Dennis Hoog

Dennis E. Hoog, 84, of Pryor, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017 in Tulsa. He was born on August 11, 1933 in Grove, Oklahoma; the son of John and Alice May (Stogstill) Hoog. He attended Salina High School and went into the military and faithfully served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. He married Margaret on May 21, 1960 in Winnemucca, Nevada. Dennis enjoyed going to car shows with his classic cars and going to car races to watch his nephew, Klint, race. He also enjoyed watching Oklahoma City Thunder Basketball and playing with his dog, Buck. He looked forward to seeing his family and spending time with them. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 6, 2017 in the Pleasant View Baptist Church with Reverend Jerold Pilant officiating. Burial will follow in the Graham Memorial Cemetery with Lewis Tauuneacie, Dan Tauuneacie, Monty Layton, Mitchell Layton, Kevin Hoog, Dwight Morehead, Neil Morehead, Brent Pursley serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Shipman's Funeral Home in Pryor. Dennis is survived by his nephew, Klint Pursley and wife Shawnda of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; sisters, Joyce Pursley and husband Richard of Locust Grove, Oklahoma and Sue Morehead and husband Dave of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; friend, Carolyn Kackley of Pryor, Oklahoma; and many other nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Alice Hoog; his wife, Marge Hoog; sisters, Betty Layton and Maxine Tauuneacie; brothers, Dorris Hoog and Sidney "Bill" Hoog.
