Gordon Morrison

Gordon Morrison, 57, of Pryor, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on September 25, 1959 in Claremore, Oklahoma; the son of Houston Morrison and Rosella (Tickeater) Morrison. On April 24, 1982, he married Marshel Marie Chambers in Claremore, Oklahoma. Gordon was a big time fisherman, hunter and loved watching westerns. He loved listening to music and Tom Petty was his favorite artist. Gordon was a member of the, Our Oasis Baptist Church in Pryor, Oklahoma. He had a love for his family and his dog; Sweetie Pie, but the love of his life was his grandchildren; Mythias, Natellie and Jayden.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 31, 2016 in the Our Oasis Baptist Church in Pryor with Brother Jesse Rowland officiating. Burial will follow in the Graham Memorial Cemetery with Clifford Wolfe, Keith Woods, Weelin Woods, Kenneth Markle, Mark Wolfe, and Tracy Scates serving as casket bearers. Honorary Casket bearers will be Butchie Markle, Sonny Markle, Robert Markle, Bobbie Powell and Leon Blossom. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, October 30, 2016 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. He is survived by his loving wife Marshel Marie Morrison of the home in Pryor, Oklahoma; sons, Dewayne Louis Morrison of Pryor, Oklahoma, Daniel Leigh Morrison and wife Holly of Flint Creek, Oklahoma; daughters, Jessie Leighann Williams and husband Justin of Chouteau, Oklahoma; sisters, Janney Owens of Collinsville, Oklahoma, Robin Smith of Foyil, Oklahoma; sister n law, Rita Morrison of Oaks, Oklahoma; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; 8 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; Houston and Rosella Morrison; grandmother, Maggie Markle; brothers, James and Charles (Snook) Morrison; baby sister, Jessie Morrison.
