Jim Gilmore

November 20, 1952 — June 27, 2018

Jim Gilmore, 65, of Chouteau, passed away on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at his home. He was born on November 20, 1952 in Clovis, New Mexico; the son of Monroe and Opal (Hight) Gilmore. He graduated Valedictorian from Elida High School in New Mexico. He went on to attend New Mexico State University and earned a bachelor's Degree in agriculture and Extension Education. He married Teresa Mahan on October 13, 1993 in Chouteau, Oklahoma. He enjoyed the outdoors and looked forward to going deer and turkey hunting, camping, and raising show pigs with his grandchildren. Jim also liked to watch Dallas Cowboys and Nascar racing. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 2, 2018 in the Chouteau First Baptist Church with Pastor John Donnelly officiating. Burial will follow in the Chouteau West Cemetery with Sam Jolly, James Scifres, Josh Tadlock, Brian Fieser, Cody Smith, Lucas Camac, Adam McCall, Michael Hodges serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, July 1, 2018 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel.. In lieu of flowers the family asks memorial to be made to JDRF , Juvenile Diabetes, website donations may be made at www.jdrf.org or to mail to JDRF, 907 S. Detroit Ave., #1006, Tulsa, OK, 74120 to TEAM PIPER (Jim's Granddaughters team) . To leave his family a message, please visit his Tribute Wall at www.shipmansfuneralhome.com.

Jim is survived by his wife, Teresa Gilmore of the home; sons, Michael Inglett and wife Amanda of Chouteau, Oklahoma, Kevin Gilmore of Claremore, Oklahoma and Cody Gilmore and wife Paige of Claremore, Oklahoma; brother, Joe Gilmore of Elida, New Mexico; sister, Vickie Thurman of Canyon, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
