Joyce Irene Everitt, 85, of Pryor, Oklahoma, passed this life on Monday, October 23, 2017 at her home. She was born on March 13, 1932 in Appleton, Wisconsin, the daughter of John Hughes and Elsie (Haefs) Hughes. She married Robert Everitt on January 17, 1950 in De Ridder, Louisiana. They celebrated 67 years of marriage. She was a wonderful homemaker, enjoying cooking, especially taco salads and other delicious meals for her family. Joyce was a member of the Locust Grove Free Will Baptist Church and loved her church family. She was a member of the Silver and Gold Sunday School Class. Joyce was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and dear friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 10 a.m. in the Shipman's Funeral Chapel with Brother Jeff Blair officiating. She is survived by her husband, Robert of the home; her daughters, Linda Everitt of Pryor, OK and Lila Nichols and husband, Darrel of Pryor, OK; three grandchildren, Rebekah, Sarah and Gabriel; five great grandchildren, Eden, Ephraim, Theo, Xavier, Tessa Joyce; her niece, Kathye and Billy Frank Sanders of Bon Weir, TX; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elsie Hughes, and brother, Kenneth Hughes.
