Lyman Carter Jr. 73 passed away October 31, 2012 at his home in Chouteau OK. He was born August 7, 1939 the son of Limon Randolf Carter and Nell (McNeeley) Carter Winn. He married Ruth Ann ( Zeiler) Carter in September 20, 1959. Coming from Bixby, Ok the Carter family has been residents of Chouteau for 41 years. He was the former Vice President of the Chouteau Telephone Company in Chouteau. Lyman was President of the Oklahoma Telephone Association, Board member of Western Rural Telephone Association, Member of the Oklahoma Library Board. Former co-owner of Midwest Splicing Company and served as Mayor of the Town of Chouteau for 14 years. He loved watching his grandsons Tanner Conner play baseball. He enjoyed watching sports on Television, loved playing blackjack, rose gardening and traveling. He will be so very missed by all who knew loved him. No Services are planned. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Carter of the home. One daughter, Cindy Kay Darnell and husband, Marty of Chouteau. One son, David Lyman Carter and wife, Cathy of Owasso, Oklahoma. Brother, Tony Mitchell Carter of Meldrein, GA., One Sister Nell Hansford of Pooler, GA. Three grandchildren , Tanner Conner Darnell of Chouteau, Chase Wagner of Owasso. He was preceded in death by his parents.
