Simon Kingfisher

Simon Kingfisher, 83 of Salina, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2016 in Salina, Oklahoma. He was born on December 28, 1932 in Salina, Oklahoma; the son of Skake Kingfisher and Peggy (Hungry) Kingfisher. He married LouAnn Pigeon and from that marriage, they had three children; Sidney, Chad and Teresa. Simon lived in the Salina area all his life and he loved being outdoors and hunting. Simon was a member of the New Jordan Church in Salina, Oklahoma and looked forward to attending services and he enjoyed driving the van for any church events. Simon loved spending time with family, most of all, watching his grandchildren grow up. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 9, 2016 in the Grass Cemetery in Salina with Reverend Duke Pickup officiating. Virgil Kingfisher, Tuffy Kingfisher, Jim Kingfisher, Dennis Dry, Virgil Dry, Leon Dry, Chad Kingfisher and Sidney Kingfisher will be serving as casket bearers. A Wake service will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 8, 2016 with Richard Budder Officiating at the New Jordan Church in Salina, Oklahoma.. Simon is survived by his sons; Sidney Kingfisher and wife Rene of Kenwood, Chad Kingfisher and Miranda of Kenwood, daughter; Teresa Ingle and husband Stephen of Salina, sisters; Jennie Ballou of Salina, Lou Lewis and husband Yazzie of Salina; 15 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; Skake and Peggy Kingfisher; wife, LouAnn Kingfisher; two sisters, Ann Craig and Katie Ross and four brothers, Dick, Claude, Pete, and Steve Kingfisher, son; Roger Pigeon, daughter; Janet Daniels and one great grandchild.
