Al Bray, born on March 1, 1936, in Ashland, Louisiana, passed away on April 19, 2026, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, at the age of 90. A man of dedication and service, Al’s life was marked by his commitment to both his country and his community.
Al proudly served in the United States Air Force, where he was stationed in North Africa and specialized in Morse Code. His military service was a testament to his discipline and skill, qualities that carried into every aspect of his life. Beyond his service, one of Al's proudest accomplishments was his devotion to planting churches across the United States for New Testament Church Planters, reflecting his deep faith and dedication to his calling.
Known for his resourcefulness and craftsmanship, Al was an avid fisherman, gardener, and woodworker. He took great pride in being a handyman, constantly fixing and building things around him. In his younger years, he was also known for his love of dance, bringing joy and energy to those around him.
Al is preceded in death by his parents, George and Ada Bray; his beloved wife, Mickey Bray; and his son, Alan Bray. He is survived by his son, Mark Bray of Tulsa, Oklahoma; step-son Craig Boggs and wife Penny of Adair, Oklahoma; step-daughter, Vicki Wilson and husband Joe of Salina, Oklahoma; brother, Eddie Bray; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Seasons Hospice and Brookdale Living Center for the care and compassion shown during Al’s final days.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 24, 2026, in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tyler Dezort officiating. Interment will follow in the Graham Memorial Cemetery in Pryor. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 25, 2026, at Shipman's Funeral Home in Pryor.
