Aleene Cravens

Aleene Cravens, 85, of Tulsa, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. She was born on December 10, 1933 in Pensacola, Oklahoma, the daughter of Russell E. Johnson and Helen C. (Rush) Johnson. She graduated from Jay High School in 1952 and was the Junior Football Queen. Aleene was married to Don Cravens on October 30, 1953. Aleene worked as a secretary for American Airlines, Homeland, and as a florist, but spent much of her life making a wonderful home for her family. She was very creative, enjoying floral design and cake decorating classes. She also looked forward to camping, traveling, family get togethers, and enjoyed hosting Christmas gatherings at her house for over 40 years. She would try to make all of her grandchildren’s games and loved each moment she had with them. She will be so very missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 11 a.m. in the Church of Christ in Pryor, Oklahoma with Pastor Matt Flindt officiating. Interment will follow in the Spavinaw-Strang Cemetery with Frank Paschal, Asa Sharp, Jared Paschal, Spencer Cravens, Kale Keith and Sam Cravens serving as casket bearers. She is survived by her sons, Tim Dean and wife, Judy Cravens of Inola, OK, Tom Duane and wife, Kandi Cravens of Pryor, OK and Todd Dewitt and wife, Lucy Cravens of Verdigris, OK; daughter, Teresa Diane and husband, Frank Paschal of Sand Springs, OK; eight grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Helen Johnson; husband, Don Cravens, and one brother, Wallace Johnson.
