Betty Jo Boney, 77, of Salina, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, October 13, 2021, in Pryor, Oklahoma. She was born on July 10, 1944 in Salina, Oklahoma; the daughter of Jack Stealer and Maggie (Beaver) Stealer. Betty was a proud member of the All Nations Church and she enjoyed being apart of her church family. She took great pride in her Cherokee heritage and was a fluent Cherokee speaker and singer. Betty enjoyed road trips, visiting family, and above all, being with her grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral Services for Betty will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 18, 2021, at All Nations Church in Salina, Oklahoma. Burial will follow in Euwasha Cemetery in Kenwood, Oklahoma. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 17, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at Shipman’s Funeral Home. Betty is survived by her daughters, Charlotte Hart and husband Don of Salina, Kathy Pickup and husband Chris of Salina, and Lydia Boney of Salina; brother, Jack Stealer and wife Jo of Pryor; sisters, Leona Bendabout of Pryor, Shirley Feeling and husband Russell of Locust Grove, Judy Angel of Salina, and Jodie Dykes and husband David of Twin Oaks; adopted brother, John Grayson of Tulsa; 7 great grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Maggie; and husband, Andrew Boney.
