Betty Lou Holt, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the age of 81 in Salina, Oklahoma. Born on June 12, 1943, in Greenfield, Indiana, Betty was known for her loving personality and her ability to spread joy and laughter among those she loved.
Betty's life was enriched by the love she shared with her family. She is survived by her devoted husband, Drexel Morgan Holt, III, of the home. Her legacy continues through her children, Vicki Moore of Galveston, Texas, Jeffrey Stitt of Garland, Texas; Kevin Stitt of McKinney, Texas, and Drexel Holt, IIII, of Brownwood, Texas. She also leaves behind her sisters, Mary Joan Reigel of Greenfield, IN, and Linda Blagburn of Athen, AL; as well as four grandchildren, who brought her immense joy.
Betty had a deep affection for her family, often demonstrating her love by spending quality time with them. Her warm and engaging spirit was evident in all her interactions. She enjoyed playing bingo and slot machines, activities that brought her happiness. Betty was also a dedicated volunteer for the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and the American Legion, exemplifying her strong commitment to serving others.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Etheline (Cook) Cooney, and her sisters, Nancy Peters and Judy Frazier. Though she has departed this world, her memory will forever be cherished by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Betty leaves behind a remarkable legacy of love, laughter, and service that will continue to inspire those who were touched by her life.
