Billy Gene Burnett, Jr., 76, of Salina, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at his home. He was born on April 26, 1947 in Tulsa, Oklahoma; the son of Billy Gene Burnett, Sr. and Willie Mae (Miller) Burnett. He married Joyce Hite and they spent many years together. Billy was a proud Air Force veteran and was a member of the Salina American Legion, and a former Commander of American Legion Post 79 in Riverside, California. He also had a strong faith and was an ordained minister. Billy enjoyed studying God’s word, history and anything political, and was a talented artist. He leaves behind many memories for his family to remember.

Billy is survived by his wife, Joyce Burnett of Riverside, California; sons, David Burnett of Portland, Oregan, John Burnett of Riverside, California and Mark Burnett of Mesa, Arizona; granddaughter, Sophia Bible Burnett of Chelsea, Oklahoma; aunt, Barbara Roesler of Prescott, Arizona; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Willie Burnett; and brother, Larry Burnett.
