Billy Dale Johnson, a devoted father, veteran, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Billy was born on November 2, 1935, in Vinita, Oklahoma, to Joe and Opal (Richards) Johnson. Throughout his life, Billy touched the hearts of many with his kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith.
 
 A proud serviceman, Billy served in the United States Army with honor and dedication. His commitment to his country was admirable and reflected his deep sense of duty and patriotism.
 
 Outside of his military service, Billy found joy in various hobbies and interests. He had a green thumb and delighted in spending time outdoors tending to his garden. In addition to gardening, Billy had a passion for music and found joy in playing the piano. 
 
 An ordained minister, Billy found fulfillment in spreading love and compassion through his work in ministry. His faith was a guiding light in his life, and he shared that light with everyone he encountered. His sermons touched hearts and inspired many to lead meaningful lives filled with goodness.
 
 Billy is preceded in death by his loving parents, Joe and Opal Johnson; wife, Mary Louise Johnson; his brothers, J.C. Johnson and Wallace Johnson; stepdaughter, Sharon Waddle; as well as his sisters, Peggy Hockman and Joyce Gilpin. Although they may have left this world before him, their memories will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved them.
 
 He is survived by his daughters, Tammy Johnson and Betty Merry of Broken Arrow, OK; sister June Schilt; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
