Billy Junior Rogers, 94, of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, November 27, 2021, in Salina, Oklahoma. Billy was born on April 13, 1927, in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, the son of Everett Washington Rogers and Ethel May (Wry) Rogers. He married the love of his life, Wanda May Ward on March 3, 1951 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. They had celebrated 70 years of marriage at his passing. Bill worked in construction most of his life, working with heavy equipment. He worked on the Kerr Dam on Lake Hudson, as well as, the Lake Eufaula Dam project. Bill also helped build the bridge between Salina and Locust Grove. Bill had no fear of anything but his Lord. He loved flying and took pilot classes but never acquired his license. He enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. Bill loved his family and all the time spent with each. He loved his church and church family. Bill had a full life of adventure, family times and great friends which the Lord gave him 94 years to enjoy.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 2 p.m. in the Pentecostal Church of God in Pryor, Oklahoma with Reverend Ronnie Cooper officiating. Interment will follow in the Ross-Mayes Cemetery in Salina, Oklahoma with Reverend Matthew Radcliff officiating. Casket bearers are Andrew Wilkins, Dewayne Rogers, Dr. David Wilkins Jr., John Rogers, Jr., Michael Spencer and Gavin Rogers. Honorary casket bearers are Reverend Floyd Parks and Reverend Carl Parsons. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Rogers of Salina, OK; sons, Geryle and wife, Nadine Rogers of Inola, Oklahoma, John and wife, Janell Rogers of Locust Grove, OK, Bobby and wife, Kristine Rogers of Sturtevant, WI; daughter, Geneva and husband, David Wilkins of Locust Grove, OK; brother, Glen and wife, Rosemary Rogers of Irving, TX; 17 grandchildren and many great and great great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Ethel Rogers; one son, Larry Rogers; one daughter, Pamela Rogers; one granddaughter, Dacia Wilkins; one grandson, Jack Jones; one great grandson, Michael Bark; brothers, Ken Rogers, Victor Rogers; sisters, Carolyn Spencer, Barbara Harlow and Diana Jean Rogers.
