Bonnie “Alene” Miller had her long-time prayers answered on December 20, 2025, and was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was born March 14, 1935, to Orville and Viola McKenzie in Mayes County, Oklahoma.

Alene marched to her own drummer most of her life and would tell you it was a challenging life. However, after she accepted Christ, her faith was her guide and always present in her life. Whether teaching Sunday school, crocheting caps for newborn babies, caring for the elderly, or the disabled, she shared her faith. She felt lead to and started a safe house for abused women and children. Located in Pryor, it served all of Mayes County. This was the accomplishment she was most proud of. She often shared stories of the women and children she saved from harm and then lead to Christ. Alene served the Lord to the best of her ability, most recently joining the Oilton First Baptist Church and attending as often as her health allowed.

Alene was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, William “Bill” Miller, her daughter, Donna Sue Miller, most recently her daughter in law Dani Miller, her parents Orville and Viola McKenzie, sister’s Mamie and Amie, brothers Edgar “Buster” and Earl McKenzie as well as in-laws Joe Miller, George “Short” Miller and sisters in law Madeline, Elsie, Elma, Oma and Evelyn. She is survived by sons William “Doug” Miller of Grove, Ok, Rick (Monica) Miller of Drumright, OK, and daughter Vickie (Bob) Griffis of Los Alamos, NM as well as sister in-law Tuyet Miller of Pryor. Also, her grandchildren Bryan (Kimberly) of Inola, OK, Wanda (Virgil) of Catoosa, OK, Brandon (Candace) of Talala, OK, Brandi of Tulsa, OK, Jason of Broomfield, CO, Jeremy (Mariah) of Aurora, CO and Justin (Jennifer) of Lodi, WI. She also leaves behind 18 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Her family wishes to thank the caring staff at Drumright Nursing Home for their love and patience these last 3 years as Alene’s health failed. To leave her family a message, please visit her Tribute Wall at www.shipmansfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Shipman’s Funeral & Cremation Service.
