Bonnie Lee Simms, born on September 13, 1947, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. She will be fondly remembered for her warmth, kindness, and spirited nature.
Bonnie’s life was characterized by her love for fishing, especially during her younger years, a passion that allowed her to connect with the beauty of nature. She also had a keen interest in exploring garage sales, often finding treasures that brought joy to her and those around her. Her faith played a significant role in her life, as she was an active member of Victory Christian Church in Chouteau.
Bonnie is survived by her son, Alan Johnson of Pryor, Oklahoma. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Delilah (Ganns) King; her son, Wavil Johnson; her brothers, Mike King and Jack King; and her sister, Catherine Faught.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Graham Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Joel Goddard officiating. A book signing will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Shipman's Funeral Home.
