Carol Imogene Potts

Carol Imogene Potts, born on January 6, 1939, in Pryor, Oklahoma, departed this life on September 4, 2024, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She was a vibrant soul whose laughter and warmth touched everyone around her. Carol was well-known for her genuine humor and had an extraordinary ability to make others smile and feel good. 

She had a passion for gardening, where she nurtured not only plants but also her love for nature as she watched hummingbirds and fed the animals in her yard. Cooking for her family brought her immense joy, and she took great pride in preparing meals and creating moments of togetherness with her loved ones. 

Carol's zest for life was contagious. She loved to dance, illuminating every room she entered and leaving a lasting impression on all who crossed her path. A devoted mother, she cherished her daughter, and her love extended thoroughly to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Andrea Grimm of Broken Arrow, OK; brothers, Terry and wife Jo Ellen of Oologah, OK, and Tom Jones wife Jackie of Garden Grove, CA; grandchildren, Jake Ritschel, Paige Ritschel-Crase, Cassi Ritschel, Jessie Ritschel, and Evan Ritschel; as well as six great-grandchildren; step grandchildren, Anthony Grimm and Jacque Grimm; and four step great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Elton and Verna Jones; her husband, Bill Potts; sister, Shirley Richardson; and brother, Richard Jones. 

Funeral services for Carol will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 11, 2024, in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel in Pryor. Interment will follow at the Bryan Chapel Cemetery in Boatman. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at Shipman's Funeral Home.
