Chadwick Dean Thompson, passed to his heavenly home on July 20, 2026. Chad was born on November 24, 1973, in Baxter Springs, Kansas. He grew up in Miami, Oklahoma, where he graduated from Miami High School in 1992. He later attended Rhema Bible Training College in Broken Arrow, reflecting the faith that would remain an important part of who he was throughout his life.

Chad loved the Lord and truly had a servant’s heart. He was generous to his core and would give you anything he had. Serving and caring for others came naturally to him, and he had a special passion for serving people with special needs. His kindness, compassion, and willingness to help others touched many lives. Chad met Sarah, the absolute love of his life, and were married in 2006. Together, they shared 20 years of marriage and built a life centered around their family and their two amazing children, Eli and Hannah. Chad’s children were the light of his life. Anyone who spent time talking with Chad knew just how proud he was of them, because it never took long for the conversation to turn to Eli and Hannah. He loved talking about their lives, their accomplishments, and the people they were becoming. Being their dad was one of the greatest joys of his life. Chad also loved sports. He was a devoted fan of OU football and women’s basketball and an avid follower of Bundesliga soccer.

Chad was preceded in death by his father, Rick Thompson of Miami.

Chad leaves behind his beloved wife, Sarah; his children, Eli and Hannah; his mother, Marilyn Thompson of Joplin, Missouri; his sister, DaAnn Morris of Carl Junction, Missouri; along with family, friends, and countless others whose lives were touched by his generous spirit and servant’s heart.

Chad will be remembered for his love for the Lord, his heart for serving others, his generosity, and above all, the tremendous love and delight he had for his family.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Chad’s memory to Upon the Waters, a ministry in Paraguay led by the family’s dear friends, Peter and Evi Ratcliffe. Their ministry and their work sharing the love of Jesus and serving others holds a special place in their hearts, and supporting their mission is a meaningful way to honor Chad’s love for the Lord and his servant’s heart. www.uponthewaters.org
