Cordell Asbill, born October 30, 1951, in Bunch, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026, in Chouteau, surrounded by the love of his family. He was 74 years old.

Cordell was a simple man, finding pleasure in the little things in life. Throughout his life, he exemplified strength, devotion, and a deep sense of responsibility to his family, Cordell’s legacy is rooted in these foundational relationships, as well as the many contributions he made to the lives of his children, grandchildren, and extended family. Cordell enjoyed working in his garden and could tell you anything and everything about how to grow a successful garden, he also enjoyed fishing, hauling hay, cutting and splitting wood, riding horses, and watching westerns and wrestling, or just simply sitting around with a cup of coffee and telling stories about his life. Above all Cordell's most cherished times were spent with his children and grandchildren.

A loving father, Cordell is survived by his sons Gerald Asbill and wife Amy of Pryor, OK and Dusty Asbill and wife Amanda of Chouteau, OK; his daughters Natha Asbill of Porter, OK and Crystal Beaver and husband Charles of Chouteau, OK. His commitment to family was a fundamental part of who he was, and he found great joy in watching his children become parents themselves.

Cordell was also a cherished papa, and his presence will be fondly remembered by his many grandchildren: Traceston, Rayden, Kynlee, Everlee, Tyler, Jacob, Kailey, Gracey, Madison, Morgan, Jaden, Meagan, Brandy, Justin, Steven, Hunter, and Stormy. Cordell was also a loving papa to his 26 great-grandchildren. Each grandchild held a special place in Cordell’s heart, and he delighted in supporting their ambitions and celebrating their milestones.

In addition to his immediate family, Cordell is survived by his sister, Carlene Asbill and many nieces and nephews.

He now reunites with his father, Columbus Asbill, his mother, Bonnie Riggs Asbill, the mother of his children Deborah Jean Asbill, 7 brothers and 3 sisters who predeceased him in earlier years.

Cordell’s impact on the lives of everyone who knew him will be long-lasting. The family will be having a celebration of life to honor him at a later date.
