Sweet baby Dakota Milo Cox, passed away on Friday, November 28, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 4 months and 4 days. He was born on July 24, 2025, to Destiny Alexis (Shipman) and Christian Cox, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
His mother writes, "We got to hold him and love on him before he passed. You were such a brave warrior. You fought the hardest fight of your life. You were so strong. You were so special to soooo many people. You are loved by soooo many. The nurses and staff loved you, you were the highlight of their day. Even if the nurses didn’t have Dakota as their patient every single one of them would come and say hi, tell him that he should behave, wave their fingers at him, and pray for him every day. Mommy and daddy and your brothers will miss you dearly. Bubba, we love you so so so much. Kota bear is now in the arms of Jesus."
Dakota is survived by his parents, Destiny and Christian Cox; siblings, Lucas Cox and Waylon Cox; maternal grandparents, Jennifer Young, Lenora Wickham, Ruth Wickham, Rick Fielden, Sharyl Wheeling, and Hayden Blankenbicker; and paternal grandparents, Tricia and Zachary Cox, John and Janet Martin, Donna Beach, Patricia Cox, Joe Fowler, Allen Cox, Ray Mayes, and Betty Blumhost.
