Daniel Guidry

December 2, 1947 — April 29, 2019

Daniel Joseph Guidry, 71, of Locust Grove, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2019 in Muskogee, Oklahoma.  He was born on December 2, 1947 in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Dennis Leonard Guidry and Ioma Maude (Bradford) Guidry.  Dan faithfully served his Country in the United States Air Force working in radar and being chosen Airman of the month.  He returned home from his military service and went to work for the KATY Railroad as a Brakeman.  He retired from Katy and enjoyed his hobbies.  Dan was a wonderful steel smith, making custom knives.  He enjoyed riding motorcycles all his life and being outdoors fishing were among his favorite times.  He leaves many wonderful memories for his family to cherish.

A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, May 7th, 2019, at 2 p.m., in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery.  Military Honors will be given by the Tinker Air Force Base Honor Team. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, May 6, 2019 in the Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel.  To leave a personal message to his family, please see his Tribute at www.shipmansfuneralhome.com. He is survived by his son, Cody Guidry; his sisters, Bette Cornett of Muskogee, OK, Judy Van Cleave of Coweta, OK, Kathy Dousso and husband, Chris of Spearville, KS, Charlene Hammans and husband, Leo of Erie, KS; one grandson; many other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents Dennis and Ioma Guidry.
