Danny Clyde Curtis, 79, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2026, in Pryor, Oklahoma. He was born on July 9, 1947, in King City, California, to Clyde James and Geraldine (Boling) Curtis.

Danny lived a life rooted in hard work, the western way of life, and the people he cared about. He had a lifelong love for horses and rodeo. During his rodeo days, Danny competed as both a steer wrestler and calf roper, experiences that reflected his determination, strength, and love for the cowboy lifestyle. Danny was also a skilled heavy equipment operator and enjoyed spending time operating equipment and mowing. He was talented with his hands and found great enjoyment in making rope baskets and crafting spurs. One of the things that made his work especially meaningful was being able to share it with others. Danny enjoyed giving the spurs he made to people, leaving them with something handcrafted to remember him by. On April 15, 1973, Danny married Jessie (Girdner) Curtis in Bunch, Oklahoma. Together, they shared many years of marriage and built a life filled with family and memories.

Danny will be remembered for his love of horses and rodeo, his hardworking nature, his craftsmanship, and the many ways he shared his talents with those around him. The things he made with his own hands, along with the memories he created throughout his life, will continue to be treasured by those who knew and loved him.

Danny is survived by his daughter, Danya Curtis of Westville, Oklahoma; brother, Buddy Curtis and wife Belinda of Westville, Oklahoma; sisters, Dana Stanfill and husband Rodney of Westville, Oklahoma, and Marsha Braly of Lincoln, Arkansas; and his granddaughter, Tru Joi Curtis of Westville, Oklahoma.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde James and Geraldine (Boling) Curtis; and his beloved wife, Jessie (Girdner) Curtis.
