Donald Edward Belty, also known by many as Don, 79, of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at his home. Born on July 9, 1943, in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, he was the son of Alfonso and Nellie (Walston) Belty. During his youth, he was quite an athlete and enjoyed playing baseball, along with other sports. In his earlier years, he worked as a carpenter, building many homes. He also put his knowledge and skills to use building furniture and doing woodwork. Striving to instill good qualities in his children, he passed down the trait of hard work ethic, along with some stubbornness. Loving to travel, he would drive down a road just to see where it led.
