Douglas Raymond Hodgins, born on August 26, 1943, in Sioux City, Iowa, passed away on January 6, 2026, in Pryor, Oklahoma. Throughout his life, Douglas was known for his dedication to horses, hunting, friends, family, and a career that allowed him to combine his passion for horses with his work. His journey began with a solid educational foundation, having graduated from Morning Side College.
Douglas cherished family gatherings and took immense joy in being an integral part of the lives of family and friends. His love for riding horses was not just a hobby; it was a significant aspect of his life that brought him great happiness. He was devoted to his family and proud that Randi, his beloved wife, was the love of his life.
Douglas is survived by his wife, Randi Hodgins; his stepdaughter, Katie Lantz; his sister, Rose McNaughton and her husband, Jerry; his brother, Bill Hodgins and his wife, Joni; his brother, Emmett Hodgins and his wife, Robyn; his brother, Steve Hodgins and his wife, Mary; and his brother, Ron Hodgins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan Hodgins and Irene (Smith) Hodgins, and his siblings: James Hodgins, Betty Newburn, Patrick Hodgins, Donna Young, Paul Hodgins, William Hodgins, and Margaret Hodgins Schmeckpepper.
A memorial service to celebrate Douglas's life will be held on January 10, 2026, at 2:00 PM, with services concluding at 4:00 PM, at Shipman's Funeral & Cremation Service located at 1204 N.E. 1st St., Pryor, Oklahoma, 74362.
