Dwight "Dub" Arthur Patton, passed away on April 26, 2026, in Salina, Oklahoma. He was born on July 7, 1949, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Dub might have been a cranky old guy but loved his wife, his girls, good bourbon and music.

Dwight proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1968 to 1970. This allowed him to not only serve his country but satisfy his need of adventure as he explored Europe and beyond. Following his military service, he pursued higher education and earned a bachelor's degree in physical education from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.

His entrepreneurial spirit led him to become the owner of the American Thrifty Inn with his wife Elizabeth where he was known for his hard work and success. Beyond his professional achievements, Dwight enjoyed an array of hobbies, including reading, fishing, gardening, and cooking. He had a profound appreciation for classical rock and country music and was a huge fan of the OU Sooners football team.

Among his proudest and best accomplishments was his marriage to Elizabeth Arneecher on May 28, 1988. Together, they shared a fulfilling life enriched by their two daughters: Amy Jaramillo-Patton and Kate Patton, and his daughter-in-law, Jenna Jaramillo-Patton. Dwight’s family extended further to include his brother David Patton; his cousin Abby McCuddy; his brother-in-law David Arneecher and his wife Arlene; as well as his sister-in-law Sandra Hendrick and her husband Donald. His life was also brightened by several nieces and nephews who cherished him dearly.

Dwight was preceded in death by his parents, David and Jean (Collins) Patton.
