Edward Lewis Wood, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2023, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on November 7, 1946, in Keota, Oklahoma to John and Pricilla Wood.
Throughout his life, Edward found joy in simple pleasures. He had a knack for fixing cars and enjoyed spending time in his garage tinkering with engines. The sound of his tools echoing through the neighborhood was a familiar symphony of his passion for mechanics. Fishing was another pursuit that brought him peace and tranquility. Whether it was casting a line into the calm waters or patiently waiting for a tug on the rod, Edward cherished these peaceful moments by the water. However, it was his devotion to his family that brought Edward the greatest happiness. He adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and took every opportunity to shower them with love and affection. His face would light up with joy as he watched them grow and create their own beautiful memories together. Edward also made sure to instill important values in his children, Walter, Michael, Eddie, Janice, Toni, Carla, Amanda - lessons they will carry with them throughout their lives. Edward's siblings were an important part of his life as well. He shared a special bond with Phillip, David, Tommy, Jackie, Joe Ellen and Carol - one that remained unbreakable over the years. They formed a tight-knit unit of support for each other through thick and thin.
Edward leaves behind a legacy of love and countless precious memories. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Wood of the home; his children Walter Wood of Chouteau, Michael Emery of Chouteau, Eddie Wood of Colcord, Janice Lewis of Alaska, Toni Jackson of Tulsa, Carla Casey of Claremore, and Amanda Wood of Chouteau; brothers, David Wood of Sand Springs and Tommy Wood of Tulsa; sisters, Jackie Nichols of Owasso, and Carold Holden of Fairgrove, Missouri; his 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. May they find comfort in knowing that Edward's spirit will continue to guide them through life's journey.
