Eldee Goins

Mary Eldee Goins, 92, of Spavinaw, passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 in Pryor. She was born on April 7, 1928 in Murphy, Oklahoma; the daughter of Charlie and Iva (Martin) Sasser. Eldee married Julius C. Goins on September 4, 1946 in Pryor, Oklahoma. She worked many years as the janitor for Spavinaw Public Schools. Eldee loved her Heavenly Father and loved to share her faith. She had a wonderful talent for making quilts and won numerous blue ribbons for her work. She was proud that each grandchild had a “granny” quilt and over the years she had many too many to count. Eldee enjoyed visiting with her family and friends and carrying on conversation with those around her. She was a loving Christian woman who leaves behind many memories for her family to remember.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 30, 2020 in the Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Gerald Grass officiating. Burial will follow in the Spavinaw – Strang Cemetery with John LeFay III, Stephan Goins, Matthew LeFay. Wayne Monk, Brandon Monk, and George Cotrill serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Shipman’s Funeral Home in Pryor. Eldee is survived by her son, Charlie Goins and wife Pam of Eucha, Oklahoma; daughters, Virginia LeFay of Pryor, Oklahoma and Jodi Pilant and husband Kevin of Salina, Oklahoma; 16 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by his husband, Julius Goins, parents, Charlie and Iva Sasser; daughter, Reta Cotrill; son, Robert Goins; grandson, Robert Goins, Jr.; brothers, Kenneth and Robert Sasser; sisters, Ruth Ash, Martha Harris, Willa Dean Dotson, Pauline Satterwhite, and Iva Montgomery.
