Elmer JC Henington, of Pryor, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of 84. Born on February 8, 1940, in Wilburton, Oklahoma, JC led a fulfilling life filled with love and hard work.
JC pursued a career as an over the road truck driver, serving various companies for 30 years until his retirement in 1994 from Ozark Food in Fayetteville, Arkansas. His commitment to his profession was commendable and left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
In his youth, JC received his education in Gridley, CA. He later joined the Army Reserves in 1957, dedicating eight years to serving his country. On September 16, 1958, he married the love of his life, Barbara Rymel in Sparks, NV.
JC will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his sons Randy Henington and wife Stacy of Locust Grove, OK, Robbie Henington and wife Kerry of Stillwater, OK; daughter-in-law Pat Henington of Locust Grove; brother James Henington and wife Trish of Westville, OK; sister Jeanie Chilton of Orville, CA; 6 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Ethel; first wife and mother of his children Barbara Henington; second wife Thelma Brewer-Henington; son Ronnie Henington; granddaughters Sarah Beth Henington and Allison Henington; as well as his siblings.
Funeral services for JC will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Pleasant View Church in Pryor with Pastor Andy Pilant officiating. Burial will follow at Hogan Cemetery in Locust Grove with Luke Kruse, Adam Henington, Dean Webb, Caleb Henington, Mike Winningham, and Joshua Campbell serving as casket bearers. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 26, 2024, at Shipman's Funeral Home.
