Erva Jean Avery

Erva Jean Avery, 91, of Salina, passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at the Salina Care Center. She was born on March 25, 1931, in Oakland, Arkansas to Roy and Ada (Evans) Hillhouse. She married Sherman Avery on January 12, 1952, and they spent many wonderful years together before his passing. She dedicated many years serving as the third grade and library aid at Salina Public Schools. She loved to spend time reading and listening to music, especially when it came to country. She leaves behind many wonderful memories for all to cherish and will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her sister, Belinda Hillhouse of Rockdale, Texas; and granddaughter, Sara Avery-Murray. She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Ada; husband, Sherman Avery; one sister; one brother; son James Avery; and daughter, Elizabeth Avery.
