Eugene "Gene" Leslie Callison

Eugene "Gene" Leslie Callison, passed away on May 18, 2024, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on January 6, 1929, in Pryor, Oklahoma. Gene leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and a life well-lived. Gene was a proud veteran who served in the United Army from January 10, 1951, until being honorably discharged on October 30, 1956. His commitment to his country reflected his steadfast nature and sense of duty. He was known for his unwavering love for his family. He cherished spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great - great grandchildren and took great joy in watching them grow. Gene's family meant everything to him, and his love for them knew no bounds. In addition to being a family man, he owned and operated Callison Painting for many years, where he built a reputation for excellence and integrity. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Gene had a vibrant personality that endeared him to all who knew him. He enjoyed savoring coffee with friends at Carl’s Jr., sharing stories and laughter that lit up the room. Despite the passage of time, Gene remained active and full of life, always ready to embrace new adventures. While we mourn the loss of Gene from our lives, we take comfort in knowing that his spirit will live on through the countless lives he touched. His kindness, wisdom, and sense of humor will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

A memorial gathering to celebrate the life of Eugene "Gene" Leslie Callison will take place from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 10, 2024, at Shipman's Funeral & Cremation Center in Pryor, Oklahoma. The event will be an opportunity for family and friends to come together, share memories, and honor the remarkable legacy Gene leaves behind.  Gene is survived by his daughter, Sandra Mathis and husband Jeff of Pryor, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Stefanie Grossman and husband James, David Miller and wife Amie, Jason Callison and wife Erin, Crystal Stout and husband Chris, Jacob Callison and wife Ann Dee, Natasha Thompson and husband Jason, Joshua Callison and wife Aubrie, Rendi Callison and fiance Donovan Brown, and Callen McMullin and husband Cody; 22 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Eri D. and Gertie (Conner) Callison; sons, Leon Callison and wife Diane and Rick Hester; 4 sisters, and 6 brothers.
