Evelyn Johnson

Evelyn Laurine Johnson, born in Tulsa, Oklahoma on September 18, 1950, and passed away in Pryor, Oklahoma on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at the age of 73. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to many. Laurine's presence brought warmth and joy to all who knew her.
 
Laurine was a kind-hearted soul with a passion for helping others. She found happiness in the simple moments of life and cherished the holidays spent surrounded by her family. She also had a soft spot for her furry companions at home, treating them as her fur grandbabies.
 
She enjoyed watching western movies, especially those featuring her favorite actor, John Wayne. She also loved solving crossword puzzles, dining out for her favorite ham and cheese omelet from Eastside Cafe, listening to the soothing sounds of thunderstorms, and listening to country music. Above all, she valued the moments spent chatting with her family and loved ones.
 
She is survived by her children Wilton Johnson and Rita Johnson, of the home; siblings Larry Rowbotham, Carole Darden and husband Gary, and Sandra Sanders; grandchildren Gabriel and Erica Johnson of Henryetta, Michael Johnson, and Kevin Johnson, both of Pryor; as well as two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Claud and Evelyn Rowbotham, grandson Jessi Johnson, and great-granddaughter Adrianna Johnson.
 
A visitation only for Laurine will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 21, 2024, at the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel in Pryor.
