Glenda "Wallie" Proctor, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, in her home, at the age of 66. Born on December 24, 1959, in Claremore, Oklahoma, she captivated the hearts of many with her loving and caring nature throughout her life.
For many years, she dedicated herself to her career at the Cherokee Nation Headstart in Jay, where one of her greatest joys was working with children. She brought warmth and compassion to the lives she touched, embodying the spirit of nurturing that defined her personality.
She found joy in playing bingo and enjoyed watching game shows, reflecting her playful spirit. Her leisure time was often spent at the family creek, where she loved to engage in games of cornhole and horseshoes. Her affection for her family was immeasurable; she adored her children and grandchildren, ensuring they always felt her love.
She is survived by her husband, David Turner; her children, Alex Proctor, Emily Turner, and Dylan Tucker; her granddaughter, Adaisha Proctor and Elijah Sands; her grandson, Tucker Turner; her great-grandson, Axel Sands; and her siblings, Beta Sapp, Lena McCoy, Floyd Dry, Sandra Turner, Linda Dry, Susan Pickup, Virgil Dry, Carol Dry, and Curtis Dry. Glenda also leaves behind many extended family members and dear friends.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Helen "Henny" (Pigeon) Dry.
Funeral services for Wallie will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 23, 2026, at the Woody Hair Community Center with Reverend Richard Budder officiating. Interment will follow in the Euwasha Cemetery with Barry Maupin, Matt Sapp, Jake Foreman, Jerrid Foreman, Thomas Budder, and Aaron Budder serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers include Clint Proctor, Eric Smith, and Eli Sands. A wake will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Shipman's Funeral Home in Pryor.
