Henry Ralph Thompson, born December 25, 1941, in Pryor, Oklahoma, passed away at his home on Thursday, July 10, 2025, surrounded by his family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, he was deeply respected for his steadfast commitment to both family and community. Henry dedicated his life to Lone Chapel Assembly of God Church, where he was a member since March 4, 1968, and played an integral role in maintaining the Lone Chapel Cemetery. His professional career spanned 37 years with the Northeast Oklahoma Electric Cooperative, where he worked as a lineman and serviceman. On January 5, 1959, Henry married Deanne Woodruff in Miami, Oklahoma. Their marriage of 66 years, 6 months, and 5 days was a testament to their enduring love and partnership. Henry cherished the outdoors, especially fishing, and took great joy in organizing annual family reunions, always dedicated to fostering connection and creating lasting memories.
Henry is survived by his wife, Deanna Thompson; children, Annett Sue (Thompson) Aburto and her husband Carlos, Randy A. Thompson and his wife Connie, and Rhonda G. (Thompson) Ramsey and her husband Richard. He was a cherished grandfather to Stacy (Thompson) and Red Gregory, Randy Thompson Jr. and his wife Trisha, Tyler Thompson, Chali (Thompson) Kingfisher and her husband Spencer, Amber (Ramsey) Hamby and her husband Austin, Royce Ramsey and Cyla Williams, and Jennifer (Boback) Stone and her husband James, Carlos A. Aburto and Jennifer Aburto, Rusty Poorboy and wife Mio, Kyle Poorboy and wife Jessica, and Callie Schmidt and husband Alex.
His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren Whitlee Collins, Savana Jackson, Alyssa Stites, Emma Gregory, Donovan Daniels, Blaze Thompson, Cole Thompson, Kelsie Thompson, Braydon Kingfisher, Calvert Kingfisher, Cobain Hanson, Chevelle Hanson, Max Stone, Ryder Ramsey, Cohen Ramsey, Case Ramsey, Jet Mary Annett Stone, Annabella Aburto, Carlos Hunter Cruz Aburto, Lilah Poorboy, Jett Poorboy, Codi Watson, Eli Poorboy, Josie Poorboy, Sophie Schmidt, and Stoney Schmidt, and his great-great-grandchild, Asher Watson. Henry is also survived by his siblings Von Thompson, Don Thompson, and Delores (Thompson) Rainwater. He was preceded in death by his parents, Boyd and Della Lee (Kirk) Thompson, and his siblings, Norman Thompson, Hazel (Thompson) Walden, Bethel Thompson, Shirley Thompson, Lucretia (Thompson) Hinshaw, Carolyn (Thompson) Patton, and Mickey (Thompson) Rainwater.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 14, 2025, at Blue Springs Church in Salina with Reverend Lorne Beck officiating. Burial will follow in the Lone Chapel Cemetery with Michael Patton, Ty Thompson, Royce Ramsey, Cody Patton, Randy Thompson, Jr., and Austin Hamby serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be Blaze Thompson, Cole Thompson, Spencer Kingfisher, and Dewayne Thompson. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, July 13, 2025, at Shipman’s Funeral Home in Pryor.
