Homer King Jr.

July 27, 1971 — March 9, 2010

Homer was born to Homer and Lois King on July 27, 1971 in Claremore, Oklahoma. He was the oldest of four sons. He made his home in Kenwood, Oklahoma where he lived all his life. Shy but a very loving person he helped people whenever possible and was dedicated to his family. He loved watching wrestling with his dad and brothers, fishing and just spending time with his friends and family. As an infant his Aunt Linda Kay made a comment about him being mushy and the nickname Mush followed him throughout his life. When he grew older he attended Kenwood School where he participated in choir, t-ball and Special Olympics. After graduating 8th grade he went on to Jay High School and became part of the Class of 1989. He enrolled in Northeastern Vo-tech where he studied masonry. Homer was a hard worker starting with the summer youth program, Simmons, Cherokee Nation Head Start and the A.M.O. Clinic in Salina until he became disabled. Home examined his life and received the Lord as his personal savior on March 8, 2010. We will miss our son and brother very much but we have the confidence we will meet again in our Fatheréâ‚â„s house. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 12, 2010, in the Euwasha Baptist Church in Kenwood, Oklahoma with Reverend Guy Soldier officiating. Interment will be in the Kenwood Cemetery with Justin Thompson, Matt Loy, Billy Taylor, Clayton Ketcher, James Hinkle and Leo Weeley serving as casketbearers. Honorary Casketbearers are Don Goins, Curtis Dry, David Taylor, Jeremy Boney and Johnny Levi. A Wake service will be held in the Shipmanéâ‚â„s Funeral Chapel from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday evening.
