Illa Jo Brimer, born on November 19, 1936, in Van Zandt County, Texas, passed away on May 12, 2026, in Pryor, Oklahoma. She lived a life marked by devotion to her family and community.
Illa Jo had a variety of interests that brought joy and creativity into her daily life. She enjoyed crafts, games, traveling, puzzles, and reading. Beyond her personal hobbies, she dedicated many years as a volunteer at the hospital in Pryor, demonstrating a strong commitment to serving others.
She is remembered for her dedication to caring for her family. Illa Jo is survived by her children, Duane Myers and his wife Lori of Mesquite, Texas, and Deborah Perdue of Pryor, Oklahoma. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Melissa Southern, Alisha Chapman-Bratteli, and Chandler Myers, as well as her great-grandchildren, Clayton, Jade, Piper, Hazel, and Easton.
Illa Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Leon Freeman, Bonnie (Wilson) Duncan, and Harry Duncan, as well as her stepbrother, William Wallace Duncan.
Illa's family will lay her to rest next to her husband in the Graham Memorial Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of your choice.
