James Devoy Armstrong

James Devoy Armstrong, 78, of Pryor, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2022 at his home.  He was born on October 24, 1943 in Pryor, Oklahoma, the son of John Henry Armstrong and Doris Charlene (Oldacre) Armstrong.  He faithfully served his Country in the United States Army for 6 years during the Vietnam War. James worked for Belco for many years. He loved his Lord and his family.  James was a hard-working man and a very good person, everyone thought so well of. He enjoyed being outdoors gardening and fishing. He also enjoyed car racing. A lifetime of wonderful memories left for family and friends to cherish.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 15, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., in the Ross-Mayes Cemetery with Reverend Jerold Pilant officiating.  The family will receive friends and family at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday evening. James is survived by his wife, Cris Armstrong of Pryor, Oklahoma; children, James Armstrong of Inola, OK, Steven Dowd of Teresita, OK, Terri Cooper of Inola, OK and Teresa Longbine of Claremore, OK; brother, Fred Armstrong of Pryor, OK; sister, sister, Sandra Highslope of Pryor, OK; 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.  He was preceded by his parents, John and Charlene Armstrong and 7 siblings.
