James Gillin III

January 11, 1952 — July 17, 2021

James M Gillin, III

Our brother James, known to many as Jimmy, passed away on July 17, 2021, 7:55am, at
Colonial Terrace, in Pryor OK, after struggling with Squamous Cell Skin cancer since
2016.

Jimmy chose a path, avoiding conventional medicine ~ and chose to treat it with various
herbs, healing foods and meditation.  But cancer has a way with life, and sadly, it
eventually wins.  This life is a one-way ride, and in the end, something overcomes us.
Jimmy is at peace.  He is healed and his body is made whole by our loving God, our
Alpha and Omega, our Prince of Peace.

Jimmy was an avid surfer, who lived in Santa Barbara, CA most of his life.  He was an
underwater welder who attempted to live in a Naval Submarine during his short term in
the Navy.  He was a master farrier of horses, in Houston TX.   He mined for Gold in the
Nevada Hills.  He traveled, by catching freight trains, along the California, Washington
lines.  He lived in the Seattle Hills where he met an Artist who offered Jimmy an Artistic
Job welding on a Giant Art Sculpture for a local Seattle University.  He met famous
people along the way.  And he met people who had nothing but still shared with him ~
and he, with them.  For the most part, Jimmy chose a life of simple means and preferred
to live within nature. He was a member of Church Universal and Triumph in Camelot CA.
learning teachings from Elizabeth Clare Prophet and The Summit Lighthouse.  It was
here, he met Terry Henderson, and together, they had a daughter Ena Aileen, our
beautiful niece.

Jimmy was a son, a dad, a grandfather, an uncle, and our brother.  We will miss his
unusual way of life on this good old earth.  Jimmy’s words were often few, but when he
spoke, he spoke with wisdom that was unknown by many.  He was wise to the elements
and spoke in depth of many things.  As I type this, I realize how much of what he
discussed is now coming true.

Jimmy is survived by his siblings: Nancy Adams, Comanche TX; Joyce Gillin Vinazza,
Castera Verduzan France; William Gillin, Memphis, TN; Kelly Gillin, Tulsa, OK. His only
daughter: Ena Gillin, Thousand Oaks, CA. His four granddaughters, all residing in
Thousand Oaks, CA are: Devon Gillin, Megan Lopez, Bailey Lopez, and Piper Stimpson.
His nieces and nephews: Scott Adams, Comanche TX; Amethyst Gillin New Philadelphia,
OH; Collin Hill, Montpellier, France; Byron Hill, Monatauroux, France. His great nieces
and nephews: Leighton Howe, Memphis, TN; Brayden Gillin, Philadelphia, OH; Kaylee
Adams, Comanche, TX; Zachery Adams, Comanche TX.; Antalya Hill, Monatauroux,
France; Alister Hill, Montpellier, France and Eliot Hill, Montpellier, France
Jimmy is proceeded in death by our father, James McKinnon Gillin, Jr; our mother,
Evelyn Mae Maloney Gillin; our oldest sister, Patricia Ann Ranger; our niece Lisa Gail
Kearns and our maternal and paternal grandparents.

- We lost our Jimmy…. Not that we ever had him, as his lovely daughter Ena said. He
was not conventional person.

In lieu of flowers, and because of Jimmy’s love for animals, we ask for any donation be
