James Edmond Rice, 82, of Pryor, Oklahoma, went home to be with is Lord on Sunday, November 21, 2021 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. James was born on April 6, 1939 in Peggs, Oklahoma, the son of Edmond Jasper Rice and Ruby (Littlefield) Rice. James faithfully served his Country in the United States Army, attending college afterwards. He married Barbara J. Breazeale on December 13, 1958 at the home of Boyd and Ida Allen in Pryor, Oklahoma and have celebrated over 62 years together. James was ordained as a minister on October 29, 1972. He pastored the Osage Free Will Baptist Church for many years. He also started James E. Rice Construction and is well known for his quality workmanship. James was very talented from construction to playing his steel guitar, he enjoyed his life. James was a man of God who loved reading his Bible and always praying for his family. He will be remembered in this life as a Godly man who loved his Lord, Country and Family above all.
Funeral Services will be held for James on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at 2 p.m. in the Shipman’s Funeral Chapel with Brothers, Carl Reeves, Randy Monk and Carl Breazeale officiating. Interment will follow in the Graham Memorial Cemetery with James Earl Hair, Matthew Fraley, Jacob Hair, Michael Edmond Fraley, Kenny Davis, Mark Fraley and Megan Davis serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be Pudge Fraley, Brooks Edmond Fraley, Kenneth Rival Davis, Brody Longhorn, Red Heard, Joe Crawford, Colin Clark, Mike Littlefield and Rogers Dale Littlefield. He is survived by his wife, Barbara J. Rice of the home; daughters, Sonya Heard and husband, Red of White Oak, OK; Amanda Fraley and husband Mark of Adair, OK; five grandchildren, James Earl Hair and wife Tiffani, Matthew Fraley and wife Alana, Jacob Hair, Megan Davis and husband Kenny, and Michael Fraley and wife Kasey; 10 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edmond and Ruby (Littlefield) Rice; Brothers, Rogers and wife, Florene Littlefield and Homer and wife, Jackie Rice; son-in-law, Earl Hair.
