James Arthur Scheetz, 70, of Pryor, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at his home. He was born on July 21, 1949 in Pryor; the son of Chester and Elizabeth (Bokelmann) Scheetz. Jim graduated from Pryor High School in the Class of 1967 and after graduation attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force joining in 1969. Obtaining the rank of Staff Sergeant, James was Honorably Discharged in 1972. He assisted in recovery after Hurricane Camille struck the Biloxi, Mississippi area. As S/Sgt., Jim became a leading authority on aircraft radar identification system. He was employed by the FAA (Federation Aviation Administration) for 36 years and earned several certificates of achievement throughout his career. He retired to the Pryor area in 2005, coming from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He leaves behind many memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Jim is survived by his brother, Carl Scheetz of Pryor, Oklahoma; sisters, Betty Cole of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Nina True and husband Boyd of Pryor, Oklahoma, Dorothy Boswell and husband Jerry of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Barbara Sisson and husband Craig of Pryor, Oklahoma. He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Elizabeth Scheetz; his brother-in-law, Curtis Cole; nephew, Kevin Roberts.
