Jay W. Stimpson, 48, of Pryor, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2026, in Rose, Oklahoma. Jay was born on January 1, 1978, in Pryor, Oklahoma, to Jerry Wayne Stimpson and Diana Meeks Stimpson.

Jay was a man who truly enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved being outdoors, whether he was fishing, hunting arrowheads at the creek, or spending time with his faithful dog, Ryder. His greatest joy came from being surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren, who meant the world to him. He also enjoyed watching his favorite t.v. show, Yellowstone, attending church with his girlfriend, and showing off his arrowheads to everyone he could.

He is survived by his mother, Diana Stimpson of Pryor; his daughters, Brittany Martin and husband Cody of Locust Grove, Ashley Stimpson of Pryor, and Cierra Stimpson of Pryor; as well as their mother, Lisa Black, his best friend of Pryor, OK; his brother, Terry Stimpson of Pryor; his sisters, Tina Stimpson of Miami, Tonda Hayes of Vinita, and Geri Daniels of Vinita; seven cherished grandchildren, Kylee, Carson, Wyatt, and Avery Martin, and Keegan Turner, and Corban & Lynlee Stimpson; girlfriend, Charlotte Pickup of Locust Grove, OK; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. Jay was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Stimpson; and his grandparents, Charlie and Hazel Rice and Francis Stimpson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 22, 2026, at Fire and Wind Ministries in Locust Grove, Oklahoma. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 21, 2026 at Shipman's Funeral Home. Honorary casket bearers will be Terry Stimpson, Cody Martin, Kenneth Black, Patrick Arric, Darren Wolfe, and Mike Wolfe.
