Jeanette Elaine Key, 71, of Pryor, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at her home. She was born on July 7, 1948 in Alliance, Nebraska; the daughter of Robert Katen and Margie (Billingslea) Katen. Jeanette graduated in the Pryor High School class of 1966 and lived in Mayes County all of her life. She married John Key at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Pryor in 1971 and together raised 2 children, Annie and David. She worked for Allied Signal in the Port of Catoosa as a Quality Control Clerk. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority. Jeanette enjoyed watching OU Football, CSI, sewing and loved to work crossword puzzles, and play cards and solitaire. She also enjoyed watching her grandkids swim and attending sporting events. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who leaves behind many wonderful memories for her family to remember.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 22, 2019 in the Your Place Church with Pastor Darian Rains officiating. Jeanette is survived by her children, Annie (Key) Ledoux and husband Travis of Pryor, Oklahoma and David Key of Chouteau, Oklahoma; mother, Margie Katen of Sperry, Oklahoma; siblings; Donna Hines and husband Neil of Sperry, Oklahoma, Barbara Widner of Pryor, Oklahoma, Brenda O’Dell of Jacksonville, Florida, Michael Katen and wife Robin of Salina, Oklahoma, and Steven Katen and wife Laura of Yukon, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren, Alisen Key, Kegan Yates, Elaina Key, Conley Ledoux, Alex Yates, Corey Ledoux, and Kyle Yates; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Katen and husband, John Key.
