Jerry Wayne Stimpson, a man whose life was adorned with love, devotion, and unwavering loyalty, has bid farewell to this world at his home. Born in Pryor, Oklahoma March 23, 1946, Jerry's presence graced the lives of all those who were fortunate to know him. Having served his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps, Jerry exemplified bravery and dedication in all facets of his life. However, beyond his military service, Jerry's legacy shines brightly through the relationships he nurtured and cherished. Among his proudest accomplishments was his union with Diana Meeks on a beautiful day in February 1972 in Pryor. Their love story became a cornerstone of Jerry's existence, radiating warmth and affection to everyone around them. Together, they weathered life's storms and celebrated its joys—a true testament to the enduring power of love. Jerry found joy in the tranquility of the outdoors. Whether hunting or fishing, he found peace in nature. But above all else, Jerry treasured moments spent with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His family was the light of his life, and their bond remains unbreakable even in his passing. In the tapestry of Jerry Wayne Stimpson's life, each thread represents a memory shared with loved ones—a legacy that will continue to flourish long after his earthly departure. Although he may have bid us farewell, his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who were privileged to have known him. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 5, 2024, in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel in Pryor. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Shipman's Funeral Home.  Jerry is survived by his wife, Diana Stimpson of the home; sons, Terry Stimpson and Jay Stimpson both of Pryor, Oklahoma; daughters, Tonda Hayes and husband Landen of Vinita, Oklahoma, Geri Daniels of Vinita, Oklahoma, and Tina Stimpson of Pryor, Oklahoma; brother, Ray Rice and wife Janet of Mesa, Arizona; sisters, Charlene Nielsen of Laverne, Oklahoma and Carldean York of Pryor, Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Francis Stimpson and Hazel Rice; brother, Freddy Stimpson; grandparents, George and Carrie Stimpson and George and Nancy Adeline Coverdell; and his nephews.
