Jessie Juanita Crowson, known affectionately as Nita, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026, in Glenpool, Oklahoma. Born on November 7, 1945, in Odessa, Texas, to Ellice and Jessie (Weatherly) Brian, she lived a life marked by dedication to family, a strong work ethic, and a passion for creative pursuits and outdoor activities.

Nita graduated from Duncan High School and carried a strong work ethic throughout her life. She devoted many years to Halliburton Services, Motor Supply, and CBI Electric in Pryor, where she was respected for her meticulous attention to detail and steadfast commitment. Her career, characterized by reliability and professionalism, stood as a testament to her diligent nature.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Nita was a woman of diverse interests and talents. She had a deep love for bead crafting and sewing, expressions of her creative spirit. She was a talented seamstress, creating pieces that reflected both her skill and her love for others. In her earlier years, she loved dancing. She also found joy in camping and cherished spending time at the lake alongside her husband, John, with whom she shared many memorable years after their marriage in Wichita Falls, TX in 1987. Together, they embraced life’s adventures, cultivating a bond celebrated by all who knew them.

Nita’s family was the cornerstone of her life. She is survived by her beloved children, Regina Johnston and her husband Kenneth of Glenpool, Oklahoma, and Shelly Hargrove of Malvern, Arkansas. Her family extended to her stepchildren, Tadd Crowson and wife Stacie of Comanche, Oklahoma, and Christie Doddson and husband Jared Doddson of Cyril, Oklahoma. Nita was a proud grandmother of Michael Johnston and wife Amanda, Jessie Mackey and husband Tyler, and Brett Bingham. She also held the cherished role of step-grandmother to Zana Crowson of Skiatook, Oklahoma, Zoie Crowson of Comanche, Oklahoma, Morgan Doddson of Cyril, Oklahoma, and Cord Doddson of Cyril, Oklahoma. Her legacy endures through her great-grandchildren: Brandon Johnston, Mallory Johnston, Grayson Mackey, Kensley Mackey, and Adelynn Mackey. She is additionally survived by her sister, Patricia Rochell.

Nita was preceded in death by her parents, Ellice Brian and Jessie Irene Brian Elder of Duncan, Oklahoma, and by her sister, Carla Jones.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 2, 2026, in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel in Pryor with Ken Shiplet officiating.
