Joe Bethel Neely, 90, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away on March 20, 2023 after a long illness. Joe was born on April 14, 1932 to Joseph Oscar and Robbie Lee Neely in Hoyt, Oklahoma. He joined the United States Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Korean War where he received the Letter of Commendation with the Combat V distinction and the Purple heart distinction. Joe was a member of First Baptist Church in Broken Arrow and was a member of the Masonic Lodge, where he was a 32 ˚Mason. In 1959, Joe met Joy McCreary and they were married in September of that same year. They had one son, David Lynn Neely. Joe was a proud grandpa to 3 granddaughters, Stacy, Kristen, and Kara. He was an avid reader and loved history. Joe began his career as a welder and retired as an Industrial X-ray Technician and Quality Control Inspector at Facet Corporation in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Oscar Neely, mother, Robbie Lee Neely; sister, Louise Johnson; and brother, Leon Neely. He is survived by his wife, Joy; son, David (Phyllis); sister, Ann Ivey; and granddaughters, Stacy (Titus) Listrom, Kristen (Matthew) Osterlie, and Kara Neely; as well as many nieces and nephews and friends.
