John Junior Lomon, born September 14, 1949, in Poteau, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, in Ketchum, Oklahoma. He was a devoted family man, proud military veteran, and well-respected member of his community.

John served honorably in the Army and was an active member of the American Legion in Vinita, Oklahoma. His commitment to service and camaraderie remained a defining aspect of his life. Beyond his military career, John was known for his passion for riding motorcycles and his genuine enjoyment of spending time with friends and neighbors. His affable nature allowed him to connect easily with people, making him a beloved figure in his community.

He was surrounded by his wife and daughter at the time of his passing, reflecting the close bonds he maintained within his family. John took great pride in his marriage to Barbara Lomon, which was solemnized on March 14, 2023, at their home in Ketchum.

John is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Lomon, of the home; daughter Jeannie Lomon Bitcolldy and her husband Marco of Modesto, California; sons Cody Barrett and Rusty Barrett, both of Weber Falls, Oklahoma; brother Grover Lomon and his wife Donna of Fort Smith, Arkansas; and eight sisters: Joan Hutchens of Montana, Johnie Lantz of Van Buren, Arkansas, Juanita Humphries and husband Ray of Pacola, Oklahoma, Kathy King of Poteau, Oklahoma, Mary Real and husband Donald of Rudy, Arkansas, Betty Dewitt and husband Tommie of Panama, Oklahoma, Peggy Lomon of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Tammy Lomon of Rudy, Arkansas. He also leaves behind three grandchildren: Rohne Lomon, Joseph Solinger Jr., and Rhiannon Bitcolldy; five great-grandchildren; and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

John was preceded in death by his father, John Winford Lomon; mother, Wanda Mae Collins; and his dad Woodrow Hutchens he is also preceded in death by his son Taylor Lomon; brother Wayne Lomon; two sisters, Patricia VonGuten and an infant sister.

A visitation to honor and remember John Junior Lomon will be held on April 3, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Shipman's Funeral & Cremation Service located at 1204 N. E. 1st St., Pryor, Oklahoma, 74362. A graveside service will be held the following day at 11:00 a.m., April 4, 2026, at the McClain Cemetery in Muskogee, Oklahoma with Cody Barrett, Rusty Barrett, Tanner Messick, Tina Johnson, Terry Hutchens, and Brad Johnson serving as casket bearers.
