Joseph Noel Graves, the son of Joseph Henry Minnie (Wyatt) Graves, was born on September 4, 1926 in Westville, Oklahoma. He passed away on August 21, 2010 in Pryor at the age of 83. Joseph enlisted in the U.S. Army serving in the 5th Calvary Regiment from Oct 1944 to Nov. 1946. He had lived most of his life in Modesto, California area, and was a Superintendant of United Frozen Foods there retiring after 38 years of service. He married Mary Lou Flores on July 2, 1971 in Merced, California. He was a member of the C-Bar-C Riders. His hobbies included, fishing, gardening, wrestling and rodeo, but his greatest love was horses. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 26, 2010 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Charlie Kellehan will officiate and burial will follow in the Adair Cemetery in Adair, Oklahoma with Military Honors to follow with Ryan Fak, Erick Fak, Tyler Oppel, Aaron Graves, Kenneth Cunnigan, Steve Graves, Jerry Graves and Jimmy Graves serving as casket bearers. The family will receive friends and family at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday evening. He is survived by his wife Mary Lou of the home; one son, Joseph Michael Graves and wife, Alex of Anchorage, Alaska; 5 daughters, Linda Jo and husband, Robert Oppel of Dardanelle, AR, Sharon and husband, Frank Ball of Modesto, CA, Karon Fak of Stockton, CA, Juanita Calderon of Ceres, CA, Diana Flores of Edna, CA; 16 Grandchildren; 12 Great Grandchildren; three brothers; Thomas Warren Graves, James H. and wife, Joan Graves and Doug Russell all of Adair, OK; one sister, Mary Carson of McCloud, OK; mother-in-law, Anastastia Flores of Atwater, CA; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by: 1 Step-Son Danny Loya; 1 Granddaughter, Mary Graves; 1-Brother, Earlene Russell, 2-sisters; Lavilla (Bill) Harris and Betty Jane Boren; father and step-mother, Joseph and Maggie Graves.
