Josephine Wynee Guevara, 41, of Tulsa, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022, in Tulsa. She was born on May 31, 1981, in Lawton, Oklahoma; the daughter of Joe Guevara and Lori (Autaubo) Hockey. Josephine worked many years as a caregiver. She enjoyed watching movies and spending time outdoors. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her kids and grandbabies. She also had a special love for her dogs, Lulu, Scooby, and Keifer. Josephine loved to laugh and had a smile that could light up the room. She leaves us much too soon and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 21, 2022, in the St. John Lutheran Church in Pryor. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery with Bray Cook, Sr., Paul Henry Pitchford, Leonard Aguila, Dustin Stancell, Howard Haunpo, Geoffrey Haunpo and Buddy Vineyard serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be Samuel Barnes, Johnny Barnes, and Bray Cook, Jr. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 20, 2022, at Shipman’s Funeral Home in Pryor. Josephine is survived by her mother, Lori Hockey of Ozark, Arkansas; father, Joe Guevara of Amarillo, Texas; son, Micah Barnes and wife Karah of Pryor, Oklahoma; daughters, Elissa Barnes of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Kelsey Barnes and Bray Cook of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; life partner, Brandon Sawney of Tulsa; brother, Nathan Guevara and Suguey of Victoria, Texas; sister, Maria Guevara of Chickasha, Oklahoma; 3 grandchildren, Samuel Barnes, Johnnie Barnes, and Bray Cook, Jr.; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Vester and Claudette Daingkau-Autaubo; paternal grandmother, Carmen Arroy and Andrew Guevara; and brother, Vincent Guevara; niece, Aniyah Jernberg; and nephew, Matthew Guevara.
