Kenneth John Macken, born July 29, 1961, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026, in Rose, Oklahoma. Throughout his life, Kenneth was known for his deep love of the outdoors and his remarkable ability to inspire those around him. His devotion to deer hunting, hiking, and exploring historical sites alongside his wife and son were treasured pastimes that exemplified his zest for life and adventure. Kenneth also enjoyed playing disc golf and was skillful in chainsaw carving, a craft that reflected his artistic spirit and appreciation for the natural world.
Kenneth’s passion extended far beyond his hobbies; he was a man of faith who embraced every moment with joy and sought to share the love of God with all he met. His dedication to teaching, preaching, and uplifting others was a cornerstone of his character, filling his daily life with purpose and hope. He valued family dearly and invested time and love into building meaningful relationships with his nieces and nephews, creating bonds filled with fun and fulfillment. For 23 years combined, Ken provided leadership in the safety culture of the Association of Illinois Electric Cooperatives, KAMO Power, and the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Malia Macken, with whom he shared a life enriched by mutual respect and companionship. Their son, Sam Macken, residing in Denver, Colorado, carries forward Kenneth’s legacy. Kenneth is also survived by his brother, Hugh Macken, and Hugh’s wife, Valerie, as well as his sister, Monica Vera, both of whom reside in California. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Nancy Macken; his daughter, Ashley Macken; and his brother, Edward Macken.
Kenneth's life was marked by faith, joy, and a profound commitment to those he loved and inspired. His presence will be deeply missed, but his impact will continue to resonate in the lives he touched.
