Kevin Lee Dodson, 50, of rural Pryor, passed away on April 28, 2025, in Pryor. Kevin was born on September 2, 1974, to Johnny “Tooter” Dodson and Linda (Phillips) Dodson. A lifelong resident of Pryor, he graduated from Pryor High School in 1993 and went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics from Oklahoma State University in 1997. He completed his Juris Doctorate from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 2001. Kevin married the love of his life, Jill Foster, on May 18, 2002, in Pryor. Together they were blessed with one son, who brought great joy to their lives. Throughout his career, Kevin was dedicated to serving the people of Pryor and the surrounding communities through his legal work. He served as the Municipal Judge for both Pryor and Locust Grove. Early in his legal career, he interned under the former U.S. Senator Don Nickles and also worked as a graduate assistant at the University of Tulsa College of Law. Kevin was passionate about public service and leadership from a young age. In 1993, he became Pryor High School’s first recipient of the American FFA Degree—a national honor recognizing outstanding achievements in agricultural education. A man of deep faith, Kevin was a devoted member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Pryor and a faithful member of Gideons International for the past 10 years. He had a servant’s heart and was always ready to help those in need. Kevin had a lifelong love of history, especially Civil War history—and enjoyed traveling to historic sites and battlegrounds.
