Linda Vernon

Linda Sue Vernon, 60, of Pryor, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 in Pryor, Oklahoma. She was born on May 26, 1962 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma; the daughter of Clarence James and Nellie (Sullateskee) Panther. Linda enjoyed watching Nascar, working in the yard and spending time outdoors. She also looked forward to going to the casino and playing slot machines and especially liked to watch TLC on television. Linda had a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews and always enjoyed spending time with them. She leaves behind many memories and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2022 in the Shipman’s Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Richard Budder officiating. Honorary urn bearers will be Will Buchanan, Tyler Buchanan, Chris Buchanan, Chad Taylor, Todd Pickup, Brett Duniphin. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 10, 2022 at Shipman’s Funeral Home in Pryor. Linda is survived by her sisters, Lois “Dodie” Taylor of Pryor, Oklahoma and Charlotte Buchanan and husband Willard of Pryor, Oklahoma; nieces, Whitley Pickup and husband Todd and Amanda Panther; nephews, Brett Duniphin, Chad Taylor, Christopher Buchanan, and Tyler Buchanan and wife Cindy; 10 great nieces and nephews; special cousins, Anita Panther and Cheryl Hart; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Nellie Panther; and sister, Hazel Panther.
