Lora Bell (Sinor) McHenry, a lifelong resident of Pryor, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026. Born on December 26, 1939, in Pryor, Lora dedicated her life to her passions, family, and community, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, creativity, and commitment.
Lora pursued higher education at Northeastern State University, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, where she studied business management and computers. Among her hobbies were gardening, cooking, sewing, and collecting crockery, activities that not only reflected her meticulous nature but also her love for beauty and tradition. She was an avid enthusiast of classical music, finding joy and solace in its timeless compositions. Additionally, Lora found entertainment in playing video poker and slot machines, activities she enjoyed with lighthearted spirit.
Her family remembers her as a devoted mother and sister, whose nurturing presence was central to many lives. She is survived by her son, Onis McHenry III, and his wife, Mary Catherine of Memphis, TN; her daughter, Lorie Kirk, and her husband, David of Pryor, OK; her brother, John Sinor, and his wife, Paulette of Pryor, OK; and her sister, Judy Washam of Chouteau, OK. She also leaves behind her ex-husband of 31 years, Onis McHenry, Jr. Lora also leaves behind several beloved grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews who carry forward her memory and values.
Lora was preceded in death by her parents, George and Alta (Cargill) Sinor, and her three sisters, Lucille Link, Melba Lee Schencks, and Nora Mae McManus.
A memorial service honoring Lora’s life will be held on June 10, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Shipman's Funeral & Cremation Service Chapel, located at 1204 N. E. 1st St., Pryor, Oklahoma 74361. All who knew Lora are invited to attend, to remember a woman whose gentle strength and spirited pursuits enriched the lives of those around her.
